- I got similar probem. I saw this messsage when I am about to send
- mine. Hope anybody can help us to figure it out, otherwise we have
- better to return it. Following my message to post.
-
- Recently I got bad experience to install Zoom Comstar 620 in my
- computer. First The PnP of window 95 always assign com5 to the modem
- although the system has only 2 comports ( actually 3 shown in device
- manager of Window95). Although I tried manually assigning the com2 to
- the modem according to the instruction of technical support staff, the
- setup of modem application software (BitWare 3.3.0) always can not
- find the modem or causes the system lock up.
-
- My computer is Zenon with BCM SQ588 PCI pentium motherboard with Intel
- 75 MHz cpu, which I bought last year. The BIOS is Phoenix 4.04 A06 ( I
- don't find PnP BIOS feature and entry in BIOS setup or device manager
- of Window 95, although BCM support person say the BIOS should have the
- PnP feature).
-
- So, what causes the failure installing the PnP Comstar 620 on my
- computer?
-
- Is updating to PnP BIOS is critical for installing Comstar? Suppose my
- system can not update to PnP BIOS, is it possible to install Comstar?
-
- Your comment and help is greatly appreciated.
